ten fields are singer/songwriter and musician Rhys Kelly, with long-time collaborators Nathan Kelly (guitars) and Rick Robinson (bass / vocals). They are joined by new members Debbie Harris on guitar / vocals, and Henry Barker on drums / vocals.
They write beautifully crafted songs, inspired by alt-country, contemporary folk, and the music of great songwriters like Neil Finn, Jeff Tweedy and Ron Sexsmith.
ten fields released a new album ‘Winter Sun - Summer Rain’ on 14th November 2014, on CD and MP3. Musically, the album has elements of folk, alt-country and classic songwriting. Described as 'gorgeous' by American folk star Abigail Washburn, the songs are richly melodic, both vocally and in the supporting arrangements. A range of instrumentation, including pedal steel and banjo played by Tim Howard, mandolin, violin and cello, help create texture and variation around the core elements of drums, bass, guitars and keyboards. Each song has its own identity and interest, but the 11 songs - we hope - work together as a coherent and rewarding body of work.
